April 17th grand opening marks chicken fingers chain’s 8th restaurant in Oklahoma
TULSA, OK (April 15, 2013) – Building off its successful debut in the Woodland Hills Mall last November, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is opening its second Tulsa-area restaurant this Wednesday, April 17th.
The new location at 4810 S. Yale Avenue will be Louisiana-based Raising Cane’s eighth restaurant in Oklahoma, and its 156th overall across 18 states. The Woodland Hills Mall location opened on “Black Friday,” November 23rd, and has already proven to be a big hit.
Clark Miller, General Manager of Cane’s newest location, is looking forward to serving more of the brand’s devotees, known as “Caniacs,” and to introducing more Tulsans to the company’s ONE LOVE® -- quality chicken finger meals.
“Our experience at Woodland Hills has proven that Tulsa loves our chicken fingers, so I’m really excited about opening our first free-standing restaurant in the city,” said Miller. “There are an awful lot of Caniacs in this area, and they’ve been telling me for months to get my location open ASAP!”
In February, Raising Cane’s earned the distinction of #1 Quick Service Restaurant Chain in the Nation for 2012, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study. In addition to scoring top overall honors, Cane’s earned six additional first-place awards. More than 63 percent of Raising Cane’s customers rated their most recent visit “excellent” overall (rating of “5” on a 5-point scale).
The company is likewise distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.
On April 11th, Miller and his fellow Crewmembers mentored students at Briarglen Elementary in partnership with the Tulsa chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“We walk the walk at Raising Cane’s when it comes to supporting our local communities,” said Miller. “It’s a huge part of our company’s DNA, so you’ll see us getting more and more involved in Tulsa’s schools and other non-profit organizations in the months and years ahead.”
Grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies will be conducted at 9:15 AM on Wednesday in conjunction with the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce and other city officials. Tulsa Drillers mascot Hornsby the Bull will be in the house to give away tickets to upcoming games. And “Good Day Tulsa” (ABC Channel 8) is scheduled to cover the festivities live, as 45-50 newly hired Crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.
The restaurant will officially open to the public at 10:00 AM. The first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Tulsa Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.
Between April 17th and 24th, customers of Tulsa’s newest Raising Cane’s will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.
