Twin Cities ‘Caniacs’ Prepare to Welcome 3rd Raising Cane’s

Popular chicken finger chain known for active community involvement to open 1st Shoreview restaurant on Thursday

As if two Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers could possibly satisfy the cravings of all the Caniacs in the Twin Cities…

The popular Louisiana-based chain known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – will celebrate the grand opening of its third Twin Cities restaurant on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Located at 3780 Lexington Ave. N. in Shoreview (in the Target parking lot just off the Lexington exit of I-694), the new restaurant will kick off the festivities at 9:30 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony conducted by the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Sandy Martin and other invited guests. Hit Music station KDWB 101.3 FM will also be broadcasting live from the restaurant from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of its 55-60 newly hired crewmembers. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m.

To add to the opening day excitement, the first 10 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive Free Cane’s for a Year! In addition, the first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a free Cane’s Shoreview T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

“We’re so excited to introduce the people of Shoreview to our ONE LOVE,” said General Manager John States, a 20-year restaurant industry veteran who has lived in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for more than a decade. “Raising Cane’s is an incredible company where great food and great people come together. I’ve never worked for a better company or with better people.”

Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 and named for his beloved yellow Labrador, Raising Cane’s mission extends beyond the kitchen and into the community with each grand opening. On Friday, Oct. 2, States and several crewmembers volunteered with Feed My Starving Children, a Christian non-profit organization in Coon Rapids committed to feeding God’s children who are hungry in both body and spirit. The crew hand-packed meals specially formulated for malnourished children, which will be sent around the world to orphanages, schools, clinics and other feeding programs.

“Feed My Starving Children is an outstanding organization that is working every day to break the cycle of poverty around the globe, and we’re proud to take some time prior to opening our doors to pitch in and help out,” said States. “But we’re only just beginning with our work here in Shoreview. We’ll be reaching out to the local schools and other not-for-profits to see how we can best serve the people of this great community.”

Raising Cane’s has also committed to providing food for the Twin Cities North Chamber’s annual Holiday Charity and Recognition Luncheon in December.

The Shoreview opening marks the third Raising Cane’s in the Gopher State – the other two are in Apple Valley and Minneapolis – and the 236th system-wide. Hours of operation at the new restaurant are Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
