Fredbird, McGruff, local police to join in Tuesday’s grand opening in Ellisville

ST. LOUIS (May 9, 2016) – As if seven Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers could be enough to satisfy all the Caniacs in St. Louis…

The popular Louisiana-based restaurant company known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – will hold its latest grand opening on Tuesday, May 10, marking the eighth Raising Cane’s in the St. Louis market and the 264th overall nationwide.

Located at 15698 Manchester Road, near Blue Bird Park in Ellisville, the new restaurant will kick off the festivities at 9:30 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the West County Chamber of Commerce. First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of its 65-70 newly hired crewmembers. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m.

To add to the opening day excitement, St. Louis Cardinals mascot Fredbird and McGruff the Crime Dog will join representatives of the Ellisville Police Department for the festivities from 9 - 10 a.m.

In addition, the first 20 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive Free Cane’s for a Year! And the first 100 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive a free Cane’s Ellisville T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

“Raising Cane’s loves St. Louis and it’s great to know that St. Louis loves us back,” said General Manager Dayna McDaniel, a St. Louis native who attended elementary school in Ellisville. “My roots are firmly planted here in Ellisville, so I couldn’t be more proud and excited to introduce my friends and neighbors to their very own Raising Cane’s. We’ve supported several community events prior to our opening, and we can’t wait to do even more with our local schools and other organizations.”

On May 4, McDaniel and her fellow crewmembers volunteered at the Wildlife Rescue Center in Ballwin, performing various tasks to assist the staff with caring for the animals and preparing to take in more animals in need. During Tuesday’s ribbon cutting ceremony, McDaniel will also present a donation check on behalf of Raising Cane’s to a representative of the Center.

“All of us at Raising Cane’s are animal lovers, so we were honored to pitch in at the Wildlife Rescue Center for our pre-opening service project,” said McDaniel. “We’re also looking forward to getting involved in the Ellisville schools and other organizations in the area.”

Raising Cane’s has supported several local events recently, including the Cop Trot 5K and Movies in the Park in Blue Bird Park. Crewmembers will also be on-site at the Cardinals’ game on May 23.
