Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers

San Antonio to Welcome Its 5th Raising Cane’s May 31st

Newest location for chicken fingers chain to open near Sea World

SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 13, 2013) – Local fans of Raising Cane’s – a.k.a. “Caniacs” – will soon have another convenient option for satisfying their chicken finger cravings.

Raising Cane’s is opening its fifth San Antonio restaurant at 10938 Culebra Road on Friday, May 31st.  The location near Sea World San Antonio (where Culebra intersects Westwood Loop) will be the Louisiana-based chain’s 41st restaurant in Texas and its 159th overall across 18 states.

Over the past several months, Raising Cane’s has opened restaurants in Stone Oak, Schertz and Leon Valley, where its signature chicken finger meals have already proven to be a local favorite.  Cane’s has successfully operated in the San Antonio International Airport since 2010.

Dalton Tisdale, who earned his promotion to General Manager after four years with the company in Bossier City, LA, is excited to bring some homegrown Cane’s expertise to the brand’s growing presence in the Alamo City.

“We’ve only had restaurants outside of the airport for a few months now, but it’s clear that San Antonio loves our chicken fingers,” said Tisdale.  “People keep coming by the new location on Culebra asking when we’re going to open, because they’re so eager to get their ONE LOVE on.  I can’t wait for our grand opening.”

Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Raising Cane’s is in the midst of a rapid expansion across Texas and other states.

In February, Raising Cane’s earned the distinction of #1 Quick Service Restaurant Chain in the Nation for 2012, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study.  In addition to scoring top overall honors, Cane’s earned six additional first-place awards.  More than 63 percent of Raising Cane’s customers rated their most recent visit “excellent” overall (rating of “5” on a 5-point scale).

The company is likewise distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.

Tisdale and his Crewmembers are volunteering at Culebra Creek Park, across the street from the restaurant, on Friday, May 24th, from 9:00 AM to noon.  They will be painting, mulching trees, removing litter and otherwise helping to beautify the park.

On Saturday, June 1st, all area Raising Cane’s are also sponsoring the San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup presented by H-E-B.  Cane’s Crewmembers will be offering free lemonade to participants in return for a $1.00 donation to Haven for Hope, the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center and the San Antonio Food Bank.

“Ever since we first announced that we were coming to San Antonio, Raising Cane’s has been supporting the local schools and other non-profit organizations around the area,” said Chantel Romero, Field Marketing Manager for Raising Cane’s.  “It’s all part of our commitment to active community support, which is embedded in our corporate DNA.  And it’s one of the things that makes all of us so proud to be a part of the Cane’s team.”

A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be conducted at the Culebra Road restaurant at 9:30 AM on Friday, May 31st, in conjunction with the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.  The Taft High School Band will also attend to add its distinctive musical flair to the festivities. First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 45-50 newly hired Crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.

Doors will open to the public at 10:00 AM.  The first 100 paying dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Culebra Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

Between May 31st and June 7th, customers at the Culebra restaurant will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year
