Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers

Raising Cane’s to Open 21st DFW Location Thursday

The DFW Metroplex already boasts the largest concentration of Raising Cane’s restaurants in the country, but the local chicken finger invasion is showing no signs of abating.

On Thursday, August 22nd, the Louisiana-based chain known for its ONE LOVE® -- quality chicken finger meals – will open its 21st area location, near AT&T Stadium and the Ballpark in Arlington.  Raising Cane’s second Arlington restaurant is located at 1322 N. Collins Street, just south of I-30.  It’s the 45th Texas location and 160th nationwide.

Michael Schilling, General Manager of the newest Cane’s, is excited about his restaurant’s proximity to the University of Texas at Arlington, Six Flags Over Texas and the two sports complexes.

“Raising Cane’s started at the gates of LSU in Baton Rouge, so we’ve always had an affinity for college students,” said Schilling, who previously managed the Pappasito’s in Arlington.  “But in addition to UTA, we also have a great concentration of businesses, neighborhoods and attractions nearby that should keep us very busy. People have been asking me for months when we were going to open, so I’m excited to say the answer is Thursday!”

Grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies will be conducted at 9:30 AM on Thursday in conjunction with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and other local dignitaries.  The UT Arlington Band, cheerleaders and Blaze, the university’s mascot, will also be in the house, while 45-50 newly hired Crewmembers perform their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.

Since its founding in 1996, Raising Cane’s has been distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.  The company is a proud sponsor of UT Arlington Athletics.  And on Friday, August 16th, Schilling and his Crewmembers are volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club of Arlington, cleaning bleachers and decorating the club for the upcoming school year.

“As we’ve shown recently with our support of Kidd’s Kids, the charity founded by the late great Kidd Kraddick, we’re serious when it comes to serving our local communities,” said Schilling.  “It’s one of the things I love most about Cane’s because it’s woven into everything we do in DFW and throughout the nation.”

The restaurant will officially open to the public at 10:00AM.  The first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Arlington Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

Between August 22nd and 29th, customers of DFW’s newest Raising Cane’s will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

In addition, self-described “Caniac” Morris Claiborne will be serving up his ONE LOVE at the restaurant on Monday, September 9th, from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. The Ticket’s Hardline show will be broadcasting from the Arlington restaurant as well from 3:00 – 7:00 PM.  More details will be provided as the date approaches.
