Chicken fingers chain to open 20th DFW-area restaurant this Friday

MCKINNEY, TX (April 2, 2013) – Fans of Raising Cane’s – a.k.a. “Caniacs” – will soon have another convenient option for satisfying their chicken finger cravings.

Baton Rouge-based Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is set to open its first restaurant in McKinney this Friday, April 5th.  The new location at 1902 N. Central Expressway, on the Northeast corner of I-75 and US-380, marks Cane’s 20th location in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, its 40th in Texas and its 155th overall across 18 states.

General Manager Marshal Young, who has lived in McKinney for four years, can’t wait to open his doors to the local community.

“This town has been clamoring for a Cane’s of its own for as long as I can remember, so it’s really exciting that the day is almost here!” said Young.  “We’re looking forward to serving up our fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers to a new group of Caniacs and to playing an active role in the McKinney community.”

Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Raising Cane’s is in the midst of a rapid expansion across Texas and the rest of the country.

In February, Raising Cane’s earned the distinction of #1 Quick Service Restaurant Chain in the Nation for 2012, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study.  In addition to scoring top overall honors, Cane’s earned six additional first-place awards.  More than 63 percent of Raising Cane’s customers rated their most recent visit “excellent” overall (rating of “5” on a 5-point scale).

On March 29th, Young and eight Crewmembers volunteered at the Community Food Pantry of McKinney, where they repainted, organized, cleaned and stocked food and other supplies.  Raising Cane’s has likewise supported the City of McKinney’s 2013 Easter EGGstravaganza, the Spirit of McKinney “Salute to Volunteers” and the 11th Annual McKinney Masters, benefiting the golf teams from the city’s three local high schools.

“Active community support is embedded in Raising Cane’s corporate DNA, so you’ll see us getting heavily involved in McKinney’s schools and other non-profit organizations over the coming months and years,” said Young. 

A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be conducted at the restaurant at 9:15 AM on Friday, April 5th, in conjunction with the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and city officials.  Doors will open to the public at 10:00 AM.  The first 100 paying dine-in customers will receive a commemorative McKinney Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit. 

First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 55-60 newly hired Crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.  In many expansion markets, customers camp out overnight to be among the first to enjoy Cane’s offerings. 

Between April 5th and 12th, customers at the McKinney restaurant will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year
