Popular chicken finger brand to celebrate grand opening Oct. 10
OVERLAND PARK, KS (Oct. 5, 2016) – Chicken finger lovers in and around Overland Park can finally circle their calendars for the arrival of their very own Raising Cane’s.
The popular Louisiana-based restaurant company known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – will open its fourth restaurant in the Kansas City area on Monday, Oct. 10. The 2,700-square-foot restaurant is located at 7501 W. 135th Street, at the intersection with Metcalf, in Overland Park.
Grand opening festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and local City Council members. First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of its 70 newly hired crewmembers. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m.
To add to the excitement, the first 20 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive Free Cane’s for a Year! In addition, the first 100 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive a free limited-edition Cane’s Overland Park T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.
Blue, mascot of Sporting Kansas City, will also be on-hand to pump up the energy during the ribbon cutting.
“We’re really excited to open our doors here in Overland Park and to share our ONE LOVE with folks all across this vibrant part of town,” said General Manager Brian Bollinger. “We’ve assembled a great crew and we are ready to become an integral part of the community.”
Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 and named for his yellow Labrador, Raising Cane’s recently earned the distinction of being among the Top 10 quick service restaurant chains in the nation for 2015, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study, based on food quality, customer service, cleanliness and other important factors.
Along with its focus on chicken fingers, Raising Cane’s is renowned for its commitment to active involvement in its local communities. On Wed., Sept. 28, Bollinger and his fellow crewmembers volunteered their time at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, where they cleaned and landscaped around the turn-of-the-century farm.
“We were happy to work at the Farmstead for our pre-opening service project, doing our part to keep the historic facility clean and beautiful,” said Bollinger. “And we’re excited about getting involved with the local schools and other organizations throughout the area.”
Among other local activities, Raising Cane’s has already sponsored the Strutt With Your Mutt 5K, the WWI 8K Double and the Deer Creek Golf Tournament.
Hours of operation at Raising Cane’s newest restaurant are Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 midnight. When it opens, it will be the second Raising Cane’s in Kansas and the 289th in its nationwide system.
