Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers

Ocean Springs ‘Caniacs’ Prepare to Welcome 1st Raising Cane’s, with Added Cheer from the Saintsations

Award-winning chain with fanatical following opens city’s first location Thursday

Brace yourselves, Caniacs: Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has arrived in Ocean Springs and its doors will be opening on Thursday!

The popular Louisiana-based chain known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – will hold its grand opening on April 23, marking the ninth Raising Cane’s in the state of Mississippi and the fourth along the Gulf Coast.

Located at 3098 Bienville Blvd. in Ocean Springs, across from the hospital, the new restaurant will kick off the festivities at 9:30 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring the New Orleans Saintsations, Mayor Connie Moran and other local dignitaries. First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of its 45-50 newly hired crewmembers. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m.

To add to the opening day excitement, the first 100 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive a free Cane’s Ocean Springs T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

WXYK – 107.1 The Monkey – will also be on-site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., playing today’s hits, handing out free merchandise and conducting a contest to win tickets to Taylor Swift’s concert in Baton Rouge on May 22.

“I’m not gonna lie. I’m really psyched about opening the first Raising Cane’s in Ocean Springs,” said General Manager Matt Rouse, a Gulfport native. “First off, because I know how many Caniacs live here and have been clamoring for one in their hometown. But also because we’ve just hired some really terrific crewmembers and I know we’re going to have a lot of fun together serving up our ONE LOVE while we serve the local community.”

From April 23-30, customers will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one lucky customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 and named for his beloved yellow Labrador, Raising Cane’s mission extends beyond the kitchen and into the community with each grand opening. On April 17, Rouse and his crewmembers volunteered at The Lord Is My Help food kitchen.

“The Lord Is My Help is an outstanding organization, and we’re proud to take some time prior to opening our doors to pitch in and help out,” said Rouse. “But we’re only just beginning with our work in Ocean Springs. We’ll be reaching out to the local schools and other worthy not-for-profits to see how we can serve the people of this great community.”

The Ocean Springs grand opening marks the 213th Raising Cane’s in the U.S. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
