Metairie/NOLA Caniacs to Welcome Newest Raising Cane’s

Orleans/Jefferson Parish expansion continues for chicken finger brand with June 28 grand opening featuring Saintsations, Gumbo, Boudreaux and other special guests

NEW ORLEANS (June 22, 2016) – Louisiana’s largest restaurant company is once again expanding its footprint in the Greater New Orleans area, and Caniacs in Bucktown, Lakeview and Old Metairie are ready to celebrate.

Next Tuesday, June 28, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will hold a grand opening ceremony for its 23rd restaurant in the Big Easy. The Baton Rouge-based restaurant company known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – will open its doors at 212 Veterans Blvd., at the Jefferson/Orleans Parish line near the intersection of Lake and Veterans, in Metairie.

Grand opening festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce and Parish President Mike Yenni. Councilwomen Jennifer Van Vracken and Cynthia Lee-Sheng will help cut the ribbon, alongside members of the New Orleans Saintsations and team mascot, Gumbo. Zephyrs mascot Boudreaux will add to the fun while the Mount Carmel Dancers and Cheerleaders keep the crowds energized.

First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of its 60 newly hired crewmembers. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m.

To add to the excitement, the first 20 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive Free Cane’s for a Year! In addition, the first 100 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive a free Cane’s Metairie T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

VooDoo 104 will be broadcasting from the restaurant between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“Raising Cane’s has expanded all across the country, but Louisiana will always be home,” said General Manager Ginny Bowen. “This is the seventh new restaurant we’ve opened in the Greater New Orleans area over the last couple of years, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our ONE LOVE with Caniacs in and around the parish line. My crew and I have already started pitching in around the community, and we look forward to doing even more in the weeks, months and years ahead.”

On Wednesday, June 22, Bowen and her fellow crewmembers volunteered with the Lakeview Civic Improvement Association, where they worked to trim back greenery planted shortly after Hurricane Katrina on Canal Blvd and Milne Blvd in Lakeview.

From June 28 through July 5, customers of the newest Raising Cane’s will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one lucky customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 and named for his yellow Labrador, Raising Cane’s recently earned the distinction of being among the Top 10 quick service restaurant chains in the nation for 2015, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study, based on food quality, customer service, cleanliness and other important factors.

Hours of operation at the new restaurant are Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. When it opens, it will be the 63rd Raising Cane’s in its home state and the 273rd in its nationwide system.
