League City ‘Caniacs’ Prepare to Welcome 1st Raising Cane’s

Award-winning chain with fanatical following opens doors on E. League City Pkwy Thursday

It’s been a long time coming, but Caniacs in League City will finally welcome their first Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers to the city this Thursday.

The popular Louisiana-based chain known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, August 6, marking the 18th Raising Cane’s in the Houston area, the 76th in the state of Texas and the 227th system-wide.

Located at 2586 E. League City Parkway, near Highway 96 and South Shore Blvd, the new restaurant will kick off the festivities at 9:30 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony conducted by the League City Chamber of Commerce and local fire, police and city officials. First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of its 45-50 newly hired crewmembers. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m.

To add to the opening day excitement, the first 10 paying, dine-in customers ages 13 and older will receive Free Cane’s for a Year! In addition, the first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a free Cane’s League City T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

“I can’t tell you how thrilled my crewmembers and I are to open League City’s first Raising Cane’s,” said General Manager Sam Strain. “We know the local Caniac population is fired up, because they drive by every day telling us they can’t wait for us to start serving up our ONE LOVE. But we’re also excited because this gives us a great platform for supporting schools and other worthy organizations throughout the local community.”

Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 and named for his beloved yellow Labrador, Raising Cane’s mission extends beyond the kitchen and into the community with each grand opening. Last Friday, July 31, Strain and his fellow crewmembers volunteered at Bay Area Pet Adoptions in San Leon, where they pitched in on several projects.

“BAPA is a great organization, and we’re proud to take some time prior to opening our doors to help out where we can,” said Strain. “We’re big supporters of no-kill pet shelters at Cane’s, so we’re always eager to help organizations that are dedicated to rescuing, feeding and finding good homes for dogs and cats.”

Hours of operation at the new League City restaurant are Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
