Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers

Flo-Mo Caniacs Finally Welcome First Raising Cane's

It’s been on the drawing board since 2009; but construction delays along FM 407 kept pushing it back again, and again, and again…

So local Caniacs can be forgiven for being a tad skeptical when they hear that their favorite chicken fingers restaurant is just days away from its grand debut in Flower Mound.

But it’s true: Raising Cane’s will finally open its doors at 3205 Justin Road in Flower Mound on Friday, September 6th.  It will mark the Louisiana-based chain’s 22nd Metroplex location, its 46th in Texas and its 162nd restaurant nationwide.

Lupe Villarreal, a multi-unit managing partner who also runs the Cane’s on Main Street in Lewisville, shares his customers’ sense of anticipation for the area’s newest restaurant.

“We see a lot of Flower Mound residents in our Lewisville locations, and they’re always asking when Cane’s is finally going to make it to their town,” said Villarreal, who has been with Raising Cane’s since 2009.  “It feels like we’ve been talking about Flower Mound forever, so it’s really exciting to know that we’re just days away from serving up our ONE LOVE to our friends here, as well as our neighbors in Highland Village, Double Oak and Lantana.”

Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Raising Cane’s is in the midst of a rapid expansion across DFW, the state of Texas and the nation.  Since its founding in 1996, the company has also been distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.

Raising Cane’s is already an active sponsor of the Marcus and Flower Mound High School football programs.  Cane’s also supported Flower Mound’s Independence Fest celebration on the 4th of July.  And on August 30th, Villarreal and his Crewmembers are volunteering at the Flower Mound Humane Society, helping to clean and organize the facility.

“Active support of our local communities is ingrained in Raising Cane’s DNA, so you’ll see us getting more and more involved with events, schools and other non-profits throughout Flower Mound in the months and years to come,” said Villarreal.  “We’re just scratching the surface now!”

Grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies will be conducted at 9:30 AM on Friday, September 6th, in conjunction with the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce and other local dignitaries. First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 45-50 newly hired Crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion. “Mavs Man,” the Dallas Mavericks’ mascot, will also be in the house from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, handing out Mavs gear and other prizes.

The restaurant will officially open to the public at 10:00 AM.  The first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Flower Mound Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

Between September 6th and 13th, customers of DFW’s newest Raising Cane’s will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

Diehard Caniacs George Dunham and Gordon Keith, the gentle Musers of The Ticket’s top-rated morning show, are scheduled to appear at the restaurant on Monday, September 16th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon.  Dunham is excited because he lives just up the road from the new location.  Keith will undoubtedly use his time trying to decipher the secret ingredients in his favorite Cane’s sauce.  So far, he’s incorrectly guessed warlock tears, the hopes of children and the souls of the Founding Fathers, among others.
