Tyler "Caniacs" Say 'Bring on the Chicken Fingers!'

The buzz has been building as Tyler’s first Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers restaurant nears completion at one of the city’s busiest intersections, on S. Broadway Avenue near Loop 323.

But local fans of the Louisiana-based chain known for its ONE LOVE® -- quality chicken finger meals – won’t have to wait much longer as the grand opening has been officially set for Thursday, September 19th.  Raising Cane’s first Tyler location, at 4185 S. Broadway, will be its 45th Texas location and 163rd nationwide.

Jason Branum, General Manager of the newest Cane’s and a Tyler native, is excited to introduce the rapidly growing brand to his hometown.

“I’ve been blown away by all the Caniacs that have come out of the woodwork here in Tyler, especially since the nearest Cane’s is about 75 miles away in Nacogdoches,” said Branum, who has previously worked at Chili’s, Chuy’s and On the Border.  “The word has obviously gotten around that we serve up some pretty mean chicken fingers.  I have a feeling we’re going to be very busy with all the families, businesses and students in our area!”

Since its founding in 1996, Raising Cane’s has been distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.

The Tyler restaurant has partnered with P.A.T.H. (People Attempting to Help), an organization that provides basic and critical human needs for economically disadvantaged people in Smith County.  On Friday, September 13th, Branum and his Crewmembers will be painting a house for one of the families assisted by P.A.T.H.

Also on September 13th, Raising Cane’s will be the presenting sponsor of the first-ever TISD Hall of Fame Inductee Night, to be held during the John Tyler/Robert E. Lee High School football game.  This year’s honorees include John Tyler and University of Texas legend Earl Campbell and UT alumnus and current New York Giant, Aaron Ross.

“Whether it’s coming to the aid of tornado or hurricane victims, supporting local schools or helping people in need, we’re serious when it comes to serving our local communities,” said Branum.  “It’s woven into everything Cane’s does in Texas and across the nation.”

Grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies will be conducted at 9:30 AM on September 19th in conjunction with the Tyler Chamber of Commerce and other local dignitaries.  First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 45-50 newly hired Crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.

The restaurant will officially open to the public at 10:00 AM.  The first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Tyler Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

Between September 19th and 26th, customers of the newest Raising Cane’s will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

In February, Raising Cane’s earned the distinction of #1 Quick Service Restaurant Chain in the Nation for 2012, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study.  In addition to scoring top overall honors, Cane’s earned six additional first-place awards.  More than 63 percent of Raising Cane’s customers rated their most recent visit “excellent” overall (rating of “5” on a 5-point scale).
