Raising Cane’s Plush Puppy Campaign Generates Record Donations Nationwide (DFW Update)

Local animal rescue shelters receive $5,400 from holiday sales drive

DALLAS (March 14, 2014) – Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves has always been an animal lover.  In fact, he named his popular chain of chicken fingers restaurants after his beloved yellow Labrador, Cane.

Two organizations- Operation Kindness and Texoma Pets Alive reaped the benefits of that relationship earlier this month when the local Raising Cane’s restaurants presented the organizations’ leaders with checks totaling $5,400, representing the net proceeds of their annual Plush Puppy sales drive.

As in previous years, Raising Cane’s invited customers to purchase its stuffed Cane’s mascots during the holiday season, with all net proceeds donated to pet welfare organizations in each of its local communities.  A record total of $36,973 will be distributed nationwide this year.

“From the very beginning, Cane’s has made pet welfare one of our five focus areas of community support,” said Lupe Villarreal, general manager of the Lewisville location.  “We’re pleased to once again support the important work being done by Operation Kindness and Texoma Pets Alive and we thank our local Caniacs for teaming up with us to make it all possible.”
