From the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to the Will Rogers Airport, the Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers revolution is on the move in Oklahoma City, as Caniacs throughout the Sooner State will testify when they welcome the 10th Cane’s to the south side of town this week.
The newest location of the Louisiana-based restaurant chain, located at 1613 W. I-240, just east of Pennsylvania Avenue, opens at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, and promises a grand opening worthy of the addictive chicken fingers themselves. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the South Oklahoma City Chamber Commerce and other local dignitaries will take place at 9:30 a.m. and doors open at 10 a.m. Two members of the OKC Thunder’s Girls dance team will also stop by for lunch between noon and 1 p.m.
First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the location in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of 50-60 newly hired crewmembers.
To mark this special milestone, the first 10 paying, dine-in customers will receive Free Cane’s for a Year! In addition, the first 100 customers will receive a commemorative Oklahoma City Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.
Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Raising Cane’s is a recognized industry leader in customer service and is distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves. On Friday, July 11, General Manager Christina Folsom and her crewmembers rolled up their sleeves for the Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity, donating tools and labor toward a house construction project for a family in need.
“It’s a special feeling to work for a company like Raising Cane’s that’s dedicated to giving back to our local communities through outstanding organizations like Habitat for Humanity,” said Folsom. “It’s been personally rewarding to see the difference we’re making at the local level.”
Between July 17 and 24, customers of the newest Raising Cane’s will be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one lucky person will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year. Customers can also enter to win a VIP trip for two to the American Music Awards in Los Angeles by texting the word “CANES” to 26739 through Aug. 19 to show how much Cane’s Rocks!
“I’ve been hearing from Caniacs who’ve been passing by our construction site that they could practically taste our chicken fingers and Cane’s sauce already,” said Folsom. “People have been buzzing about the new restaurant for weeks. They can’t wait to get their ONE LOVE on and say, ‘This is my Cane’s!’”
The I-240 opening marks the 15th restaurant in Oklahoma and the 191st system-wide. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to midnight.
