Owasso Welcomes Newest Raising Cane's

If 2014 is anything like the previous year, Tulsans won’t have to look far to find their favorite chicken fingers.

Raising Cane’s, the popular Louisiana-based chain known for its ONE LOVE® -- quality chicken finger meals – is set to open its fifth area location at 13301 E. 96th St. North (at Highway 169) in Owasso on Thursday, January 16th.   It will be Raising Cane’s 14th restaurant in the Sooner State and its 179th overall across 18 states.

General Manager Jeff Brown, a Tulsa native and graduate of Daniel Webster High School, can’t wait to open his doors to the town in which he has lived since 2006.

“I’m no rocket scientist, but I do know one thing: Tulsans love their chicken fingers.  In fact, there are more Caniacs around here than you can shake a stick at,” said Brown, who has spent his entire 26-year career in restaurant management.  “But just as important as serving up our ONE LOVE, we are committed to being a big part of the local community.”

On Friday, January 10th, Brown and his crewmembers will be volunteering at the American Diabetes Association, stuffing packets for its upcoming Tour de Cure event this summer, and other events scheduled throughout the year.  Cane’s is also sponsoring the Hoops for Hope tournament at Bishop Kelley High School from January 17-19.

“I have four kids and three grandkids all living in this area, so it’s personal for me,” said Brown. “Community service is an integral part of Raising Cane’s DNA, so you can rest assured that we’ll be very supportive of the schools and non-profit organizations around Owasso in the months and years to come.”

Grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the new restaurant will be conducted at 9:45 AM on Thursday, January 16th, in conjunction with the Owasso Chamber of Commerce and city officials.  First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 45-50 newly hired Crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.

The restaurant will officially open to the public at 10 a.m.  The first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Owasso Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

Between January 16th and 23rd, customers of Tulsa’s newest Raising Cane’s will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

The Owasso restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
