Lubbock Caniacs to Welcome City's 3rd Raising Cane's

The chicken fingers invasion of Lubbock continues this Thursday when Raising Cane’s opens its third local restaurant.

The Louisiana-based chain known for its ONE LOVE® -- quality chicken finger meals – will celebrate its latest grand opening at 2725 82nd Street (at University, in front of the Tinseltown movie theaters) on January 16th.  It marks Raising Cane’s 54th restaurant in the Lone Star State and 179th overall across 18 states.

Managing Partner Mike Spano, a 10-year restaurant veteran, has managed the Cane’s on 57th St. & Slide Road in Lubbock for the last three years.  He’s witnessed firsthand the explosive growth of the local “Caniac” population.

“Lubbock has really embraced Raising Cane’s since we first arrived here three years ago, and their loyalty has enabled us to expand again,” said Spano.  “Our growth also means we can provide even more support for the local schools and excellent not-for-profit organizations that do such great work in this town.”

On Friday, January 10th, Spano and 25 of his fellow managers and crewmembers volunteered at The Children’s Home of Lubbock.  They completed landscaping projects, organized the library and arranged food and clothing donations.  This is the second time Cane’s crewmembers have worked at the home, which provides care, counseling and foster and adopted homes for thousands of area children.

Raising Cane’s is also a sponsor of Texas Tech University, Lubbock Christian University and Trinity Christian School.

“Serving our local communities is an integral part of Cane’s DNA,” said Spano.  “It’s ingrained in everything we do in Lubbock, and will continue to be for as long as we have Caniacs here.”

Grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the new restaurant will be conducted at 9:30 AM on Thursday in conjunction with the City of Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and other local dignitaries.  The Estacado High School Color Guard will be on hand to provide some flair, while 45-50 newly hired crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.

The restaurant will officially open to the public at 10:00 AM.  The first 100 paying, dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Lubbock Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo – containing four fresh, never ever frozen chicken fingers, Texas toast, secret recipe Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, crinkle-cut fries and a drink – that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.

Between January 16th and 23rd, customers of Lubbock’s newest Raising Cane’s will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

The restaurant is also participating in Cane’s ONE LOVE Adventure, a peel-and-win game offering thousands of prizes including free food, home theater equipment, music and gamer bundles, trips to Alaska, California and Louisiana, 50 $1,000 cash prizes and a $50,000 Grand Prize.
