Gulf Coast Caniacs Can Soon Satisfy Cravings in Biloxi

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers set to open in Biloxi March 28th

BILOXI, MS (March 12, 2013) – Baton Rouge-based Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will open its first restaurant in Biloxi on Thursday, March 28th.  Cane’s newest restaurant at 2950 Beach Blvd., less than two miles from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, will be the chain’s 2nd restaurant in Harrison County, its 3rd along the Gulf Coast and its 8th in Mississippi.

Raising Cane’s founder and CEO Todd Graves believes the timing is perfect for his first restaurant in Biloxi, given the brand’s success across the state.  “Mississippi Gulf Coast residents have been Caniacs ever since we opened in Gulfport in 2004,” said Graves.  “We have been interested in Biloxi for many years and we are excited to finally be a part of this great community.”

General Manager Brent Joffrion, a Gulfport native who has worked at Raising Cane’s Pascagoula restaurant since it opened in July 2011, shares Graves’ enthusiasm for the company’s newest market.

“I know how much Pascagoula loves Cane’s, and I imagine that Biloxi residents will be equally passionate about their Cane’s,” said Joffrion.  “We are looking forward to serving our customers and the community.”

Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Raising Cane’s is in the midst of a rapid nationwide expansion.  The company is a recognized industry leader in customer service and is distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.

Last month, Raising Cane’s earned the distinction of #1 Quick Service Restaurant Chain in the Nation for 2012, according to the authoritative Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track study.  In addition to scoring top overall honors, Cane’s earned six additional first-place awards.  Fully 63 percent of Raising Cane’s customers rated their most recent visit “excellent” overall (rating of “5” on a 5-point scale).

On March 22nd, Joffrion and his Crewmembers will be helping to refurbish Hiller Park by painting and conducting other general maintenance.

“Active support of our local communities is a huge part of Raising Cane’s DNA, so you’ll see us getting heavily involved in Biloxi’s schools and other non-profit organizations over the coming months and years,” said Joffrion.

A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be conducted at the restaurant at 9:00 AM on March 28th, in conjunction with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, Biloxi Mayor A.J. Holloway and other community leaders.  The Biloxi High School Drumline is also scheduled to perform.  First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 45-50 newly hired Crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.

Doors will open to the public at 10:00 AM.  The first 100 dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Biloxi Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit.  (The voucher is not valid on Opening Day.) In many expansion markets, customers camp out overnight to be among the first to enjoy Cane’s offerings.

Between March 28th and April 14th, Biloxi customers will also be invited to enter a drawing in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.
